Great Taste backs Packington Free Range across the board
We are very proud to announce that Packington Free Range has been awarded NINE Great Taste Awards for 2020!
In what we believe to be our biggest win to date, we’ve been awarded one and two star certificates across our product range. After the challenges of this year, it feels like some much needed good news!
The Great Taste Team awarded coveted Two Star awards for our Packington Free Range Cockerel, Packington Free Range Chicken and Packington Free Range Pork Shoulder. According to the judges, two star products are deemed, “Above and beyond delicious – less than 10% of entries will achieve this rating.”
We received One Star awards for our Packington Free Range Bronze Turkey, Chicken Fillets, Chicken Thighs, Pork Loin, Pork Leg and Pork Belly. One stars are awarded to “Food that delivers fantastic flavour. Approximately 25% of entries will achieve this rating each year.”
It’s great recognition for our team. They have worked tirelessly this last year, in testing circumstances, to deliver the high standard of pork and poultry our loyal butchers and customers have come to expect. And we believe the awards are a testament to the way in which we farm. We’re passionate about sustainability. We farm to the highest standards, prioritising exceptional welfare for our birds, alongside unrivalled taste and complete provenance for our customers.
And, with many people’s thoughts already turning to Christmas, we’re delighted the judges backed our two star cockerel and one star bronze turkey. Our cockerels are ideal for smaller gatherings, which are looking increasingly likely this year. While our bronze turkeys offer a great choice for those wishing to keep things traditional. Both offer plenty of succulent, delicious meat for the big day and those tasty leftovers.
