Packington Chickens land on The Falkland Islands

Rearing chickens is an eventful business! It’s full of challenges, surprises, lessons and best of all, opportunities!

Earlier this year, Alec was thrilled to be given the opportunity to supply his Free Range Chickens to The Falkland Islands. Given the geography and remote location in the South Atlantic Ocean, this project understandably required a great deal of planning and organisation. In spite of the challenges, Alec was determined to make this incredible opportunity a reality.

We’re thrilled to say the hard work has paid off! Alec’s award-winning chickens are now being enjoyed by residents on some of the world’s most remote islands. Even better, they’re going down a treat with customers. We’re very proud to share feedback from two happy customers who got in touch after their first Falklands purchases.

“I live (for the next two years) and work in the Falkland Islands and wanted to write and thank you for supplying your magnificent chickens here. It is a very recent change and quite an increase in cost, but the quality beats the battery stuff we have been eating previously and is worth every penny.

Long may it continue – we are on day three of feeding 4 people dinner, two lunches and now stew. It certainly does taste like chicken should. Thank you.” H. Havercroft.

“Robert McLeod in the Falkland Islands. Just wanted you to know one of our local supermarkets have a stock of your chickens. I would like to let you know that I had one for my dinner tonight. It was the best we have eaten in a long time. Very nice.”

Well done, Alec!
