Onsite Farm Education Returns

Spring is in the air, and with it, it means our onsite farm education returns. With the first visit of the year taking place at the end of the week, there’s a real buzz to get everything ready.

Our Education project with Farmlink continues to run throughout the winter months. Our lead educator Jules visits schools to deliver farm workshops. Children get to see first-hand our cereal crops, model machinery and sometimes live animals.

Packington In school Visit

It‘s always a busy, and exciting time, when we host our onsite school visits at our dedicated site at Blakenhall Park.

Local schools can come and visit, free of charge. Our tours are between 10am-2pm, and children participate in a variety of activities such as;

  • crop walks
  • pond dipping
  • farm activities
  • woodland activities

They also meet pigs and sheep and learn more about farm animals and produce.

Tours can be tailored to suit different school topics and can fit in with the national curriculum – as a result, helping to really take the classroom outdoors.

We strongly believe in providing everyone with the opportunity to experience farming life and what’s involved in the food to fork journey.

It’s really important that children make a connection between food and farming and learns about where their food comes from. All whilst gaining an understanding about the environment and conservation.

Amazing milestones

We are about to reach a huge milestone, with 30,000 children having been on our Education program to date – a remarkable achievement.
