Name: Dave McCaskill
Role: Manager, Green Mile Farm
Time in Role: 2 years with Packington, 39 years farming
What do you love about farming?
I love the challenge that farming brings, seeing the pigs happy and healthy, delivering excellent weaning figures and overall results for the farm.
What are your main challenges in farming?
Retaining quality staff can be a challenge as farming is a physical job, which the wonderful British weather can make even harder. Working as a team is crucial to the successful running of the farm.
If farming wasn’t in the picture, where would life have taken you?
If I wasn’t farming, I would have been a car mechanic and panel beater.
And finally………What is your favourite Packington Free Range product?
We are gifted a cockerel at Christmas, it is delicious and definitely my favourite product!
