This is a decent sized chicken leg with plenty of meat on the bone. The meat was easy to cut and very juicy, with a lovely chicken aroma, A creamy chicken flavour lasted in the mouth ... a decent chicken leg.

The meat looks very dark and the aroma is really inviting. It both looked and tasted moist. The flavour is very delicate and the the chicken is juicy, gives resistance in the mouth and is very tender. The judges feel the chickens have been well cared for.

Very generous chicken wings, these have plenty of meat and a clean classic chicken aroma. Soft juicy flesh releases delicious flavour which is all about chicken pure clean and simple. This bird has obviously lived a good mature life to produce such classic flavour ... this is what chickens taste of.

This is the plumpest fillet we have seen for a while – generous and with no shrinkage. The skin is delicious. A wonderfully moist piece of meat, offering such a delightful change. It tastes of chicken! Delicious. It has the confidence of a bird that has had a good life, and holds on to its flavour, so is worthy of an award.

What a whopper! This is a huge chicken breast - so obviously comes from a mature bird. Yet it is incredibly tender. This IS chicken! Moist, juicy, toothsome and so satisfying. The texture, the flavour, the bite, the chew. The skin is buttery and intense. Utterly sublime.

Generously sized wings, these are juicy and enticing. The skin is buttery. The meat is also buttery soft and tender. The bones are mature and have obviously released intense flavour – full-on meaty deliciousness. They are outstanding and just how chicken should be.

The chicken looks really juicy and moist, with a good amount of meat on the wings and a good colour on the skin. There is a great chicken aroma. The wings are very moist and tender and the meat is falling off the bone. The flavour is great, just like chicken should taste.
